Vilém Flusser argues that «language is reality». This thesis is taken up in this paper, which interprets it within the framework of an ontology of language (idiom). The author starts with the metaphor of the tissue of language to show it woven by words and meanings, always threatened by nothingness, which is the unspeakable and the ineffable. The fragility of the language comes from the threat of nothingness. The paper penetrates the intimacy of Flusser's thought to question the emergence of the referent and sense.
