Vol. 14 No. 1 (2025): Geopolitics, territory and power

The January/June 2025 edition of Conexão Política Magazine, volume 14, number 1, features a dossier on "Geopolitics, Territory and Power". This semi-annual publication of the Postgraduate Program in Political Science at UFPI, organized by Professor Dr. Raimundo Jucier Sousa de Assis, reflects the growing interest and need to understand the complex reconfigurations of global power and its ramifications in various spheres.

The issue seeks to expand the debate and knowledge production on geopolitical theories, categories, methodologies, and events that directly influence states and other international actors. The magazine explores how the dynamics of the transitioning global chessboard organically connect with new international conflicts, threats to national sovereignties, diplomatic redesigns driven by foreign investment, and the continuous forms of plundering of natural resources. In addition, it addresses the resistance of marginalized states and peoples in the face of these transformations.

Organized by Professor Dr. Raimundo Jucier Sousa de Assis, this edition offers a platform for critical analysis of the power relations that shape the global, regional, and national landscape, impacting even traditional territorial communities. The collection of articles aims to deepen reflection on how geopolitics manifests and transforms itself in a constantly changing world, providing a comprehensive view of the contemporary challenges and dynamics involving territory and power.
