Graduated in Full Degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Piauí (1988), Master in Philosophy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1996) and Doctorate in Philosophy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2004), with a doctoral internship at Boston College, USA (2001). He also did postdoctoral studies at PUCRS (2010) and UFMG (2018). He is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Piauí, working in the Department of Philosophy at undergraduate and Master and Doctorate levels in Philosophy. He was a professor at the Master's Program in History of Brazil / UFPI and the Master's in Development and Environment / UFPI. He was Assistant Professor at the State University of Piauí (1989-1991). He has experience in the area of Philosophy, with an emphasis on Contemporary Ethics, working mainly on the following topics: Alasdair MacIntyre, Hans Jonas, ethics, rationality, tradition, contemporary ethics, and philosophy of technology. He was Head of the Department of Philosophy / UFPI (1997-1999; 2005-2007), Coordinator of the Master in Ethics and Epistemology at UFPI (currently PPG in Philosophy / UFPI) from 2007 to 2011, and from 2012 to 2016; Operational Coordinator of the Interinstitutional Doctorate in Philosophy UFMG-UFPI from 2008 to 2012; Tutor Professor of PET Philosophy/UFPI (2007-2010; 2011-2017). He is Professor of the Doctorate in Philosophy at the Federal University of Ceará since 2013; Professor of the Master in Philosophy (UFMA). UFPI Productivity Fellow (2015-2016; 2018); Productivity Scholarship PQ CNPq (2018-2021, 2022-2024).
