This study is part of the thesis Bio-Ethnographies of Care, currently being developed in the Postgraduate Program in Sociology and Anthropology at UFPA. The article discusses ethnographic displacement not only as a methodological tool but also as a sensory and epistemological experience in the construction of anthropological knowledge. Using the island of Itapuá as a locus of analysis, it belongs to a lineage of research that traces back to the works of Heraldo Maués and Angélica Motta-Maués in the 1970s and the investigations of Gisela Villacorta at the turn of the 21st century. Throughout this period, fishing has remained the structural axis of social life, while agriculture has given way to new socioeconomic and religious dynamics. Understanding Itapuá requires paying attention to the flows of information and the nuances in ways of life, which highlight social and environmental interactions over time.
