The aim of this paper is to characterize the contractualist theory of virtues in greater detail, as well as to respond to the comments and objections raised by colleagues Rafael Vogelmann, Ricardo Araújo, Evandro Barbosa & Thaís Costa, and Lucas Dalsotto in this Book Symposium proposed by colleague Helder Buenos Aires de Carvalho, which aims to discuss the book Contrato & Virtudes III: problemas epistemológicos-morais e metodológicos (Loyola, 2024a). I intend to clarify the central objectives of this mixed moral and political theory, which connects a first-person normative authority with a second-person normative authority, connecting a specific type of virtue ethics with a neo-contractualist ethical model, highlighting the following points: scope of the theory, moral pluralism, moderate perfectionism, moral ignorance, interdependence between morality and law.
