(Posthumous memories of Brazilian philosopher)

Abstract

This text pays homage to one of Brazil's most original and important thinkers. Through twenty-seven aphorisms we intend to update the memory of Oswald de Andrade. These fragments seek to contemplate his poetic vision of the world, at the same time, serious and fun, his caustic verve, but with a smooth digestion, and, finally, his inventive capacity of imitating oneself, always renewing the edifice of our philosophical ideas. Regarding these ideas, this text, without neglecting the playful and creative aspects of the author, emphasizes the strength of his arguments. Oswald calls on our thinkers to reflect on our own myths, creating and eventually killing our own metaphysics. For him, Brazilian philosophy will not “survive” from imitation or copying foreign ideas. Our Philosophy will “live” because of its anthropophagic character.
