The present study aimed to characterize the geodiversity of the Mutum and Roncador stream microbasins, based on the identification of geosites/geodiversity sites. The two watersheds are located in the Immediate Geographical Region of Teresina, totaling an area of 107.97 km2, involving the territory of the municipalities of Teresina, Nazária, Demerval Lobão and Lagoa do Piauí. The methodological procedures were based on bibliographic research, thematic mapping and field research. The results point to three geosites (Fossiliferous Outcrop of Paiol, Fossiliferous Outcrop of Parque Vitória and Ponte de Pedra do Mutum) and a Geodiversity site (Chapada do Cocho), which were characterized and evaluated for geodiversity values. Therefore, the area presents a remarkable geodiversity, being essential to carry out more in-depth studies to subsidize the sustainable use of the places, with regard to the realization of strategies for the conservation of this heritage.
