Abstract

The text of the article is derived from the introduction of a doctoral thesis in anthropology, where the author presents some inconsistencies that she observes in anthropology training at postgraduate level in Brazil and that were felt firsthand by the author during her process training as an anthropologist and later when she specialized in indigenous ethnology. Some situations are problematized that involve the current Brazilian association of anthropology and its efforts to empty the anthropological episteme by adopting a mistaken notion of interdisciplinarity and notably by encouraging the exotification of ethnically marked subjects of study. Finally, some problems that this set of markers cause against the subjects of study and against the development of anthropology as a builder of empirical knowledge are exposed.
