About the Journal
Focus and Scope:
INFORME ECONÔMICO Journal (UFPI) is an electronic academic periodical edited by the Department of Economic Sciences (DECON) and the Graduate Program in Economics (PPGE) of the Federal University of Piauí. It operates on a continuous submission basis and is open to the submission of articles, essays, and reviews. The journal publishes research conducted by academics (faculty and students) as well as other professionals in the field of Applied Social Sciences (http://lattes.cnpq.br/web/dgp/ciencias-sociais-aplicadas).
Goal: To promote the production and dissemination of knowledge in Applied Social Sciences through the publication of unpublished texts that provide original contributions.
Vision: To become an academic and scientific reference that contributes to socioeconomic debate and development.
Commitments: To evaluation standards focused on academic quality and to a pluralistic approach in research methodology.
Scope: Regional, national, and international.
No fees are charged for the submission and/or processing of manuscripts, nor for access to the journal’s content.
Peer Review Process:
All texts submitted to INFORME ECONÔMICO (UFPI) are evaluated according to the journal's guidelines, with feedback provided for each review round within a maximum of sixty (60) days.
Articles and essays that comply with the journal's scope are assigned by the editors to external reviewers (for a double-blind peer review). In the event of a discrepancy between the two reviewers’ report, the text may be submitted to evaluation by a third reviewer.
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Journal will issue one of the following decisions:
- Recommended for publication;
- Recommended for publication, with modifications;
- Not recommended for publication.
Book reviews are evaluated solely by members of the editorial team.
In each issue, regardless of the time of acceptance, no more than one text from the same institution -of any nature-will be published.
Publication Frequency:
Semiannual, exclusively in electronic format.
Special issues may also be published.
Open Access Policy:
This journal provides immediate open access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public encourages a greater global democratization of knowledge.
