Recycling appears as an essential solution for maintaining life on Earth, transforming discarded materials into new products and reducing waste production. Furthermore, the reuse of objects discarded at school facilitates the teaching-learning process, and can be used to create teaching resources, offering teachers and students an economical and creative approach, making the educational process more engaging and fun for students. This work aims to make students aware of the importance of recycling, stimulating creativity, encouraging the reduction of waste at school and at home, as well as encouraging the use of recycled materials in everyday life with economic consequences, and the reuse of these materials in the creation of models. teaching materials for science classes. This study is the product of an extension project, carried out at the Miguel Lidiano School Unit, in Picos-Piauí, for 2nd year high school students, under the guidance of the Federal University of Piauí. This proposal was an effective approach to promote the use of recyclable materials in teaching, contributing to the preservation of the environment and making classes more attractive, where students played an active role in building knowledge. Activities were developed at the school, from the elaboration, production, creation of teaching materials, exhibition, and application in the students' teaching-learning process.
