    This issue of the Journal of the Academy of Sciences of Piauí presents us with the rich
    Piauí geodiversity. The natural, geological and geomorphological processes were (and
    are) responsible for the variety of environments and landscape formation observed in the
    plateaus, plains, mountains, coast, in the semiaridity of the crystalline basement and its
    residual massifs, in natural conservation units, paleontological sites, soils,
    aquifers, rocks and minerals. Our geodiversity has provided the development of life
    in the territory of Piauí, highlighting the intrinsic cultural, aesthetic, economic,
    scientific, tourist and educational activities of our people.
