This research focuses on analyzing the psychosocial effects that the COVID-19 pandemic generated in college students of social sciences in Jalisco, Mexico. Through a digital ethnography carried out during confinement, we seek to understand the perceptions and emotions of these young people in the face of an unprecedented global situation. The study investigates how social isolation and uncertainty regarding the academic and work future affected the mental health of students, revealing the appearance of symptoms of anguish, anxiety and stress. The research highlights the importance of understanding the feelings and thoughts of this population to design appropriate interventions in the educational and public health field. The results suggest the need to implement emotional and psychological support strategies aimed at mitigating the negative effects of confinement on the student population, as well as rethinking educational policies in crisis contexts. This study contributes to the discussion on the repercussions of the pandemic on university youth, underlining the relevance of multidisciplinary approaches that address psychosocial challenges in global emergency situations.
