Abstract

The inclusion of people with special needs in society is an increasingly concrete reality, as the laws and guidelines that guarantee this right have had an effective contribution over the years. However, in the teaching of Chemistry to the blind, a reduced number of learning is perceived, arising from factors such as lack of resources, unqualified teachers, in addition to the student's own difficulty with the discipline. Thus, the objective of the research is to analyze the contribution of the use of alternative materials to the teaching of hydrocarbons in a 3rd year high school class at IFMA- Caxias. In this context, the observations of the classes were worked, questionnaires were applied and adapted materials were elaborated using: styrofoam plates, transcription in Braille of the hydrocarbons and adapted molecular structures, styrofoam balls and high relief glue. The questionnaires were directed to the students and the sighted teacher to evaluate the classes and learning, and after data analysis, the materials produced with the blind student were evaluated. It was observed that the students managed, through the selected resources, to understand and assimilate the contents of Hydrocarbons, showing that the teaching of chemistry from the perspective of inclusion is possible, especially when aligned with the use of adapted resources.
