The article offers guidelines on how to write a research project with rules and tips that cover interests from those who write from a qualitative-interpretative perspective to positivist studies guided by a theoretical-deductive approach, trying to shed light on the variations of this spectrum. The reader will find hints of different epistemological paradigms and a discussion about what should be contained in the introduction, justification, methodology, theoretical anchoring, and so on. It is an essay with personal language that provides examples of different works to illustrate and give the reader greater chances of meeting their doubts about what should be contained in each item. Throughout the text, readers will learn to differentiate their object from their objective, and receive tips to refine their research question depending on the approach of interest. The readers become familiar with the possibilities that reside in each of the items and reflect on the variations.
