This article investigates the work of Community Health Agents (ACS) in Parnaíba-PI from an intersectional perspective, considering how race, gender, and class intersect in their daily work, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology employed for data collection was semi-structured interviews. Through these interviews, the study sheds light on the various challenges faced by ACS, such as unhealthy working conditions, state and municipal neglect, devaluation of the profession, emotional stress, fear, anxiety, and the burden of dual or triple work shifts, among others. The study concludes that it is necessary to implement actions to ensure the rights, dignity, and proper recognition of ACS, who are essential for the functioning of public health across the country.
