É com grande satisfação que apresentamos este dossiê temático dedicado à Ética das Virtudes Ambiental. A emergência climática não é apenas um problema de ordem físico-biológico, sobre os (des)equilíbrios das forças naturais em nosso planeta, mas diz respeito diretamente à ação humana e ao seu modo de viver predatório, aos valores que são cultivados em suas atuais formas de vida, às escolhas políticas de indivíduos, organizações corporativas e governos. Assim, em um momento histórico de mudanças profundas e incertezas crescente, as abordagens éticas tradicionais — focadas rigidamente em deveres universais ou no cálculo utilitarista de consequências — parecem, por vezes, insuficientes diante dos desafios normativos que essa realidade nos impõe. Diante disso, este volume propõe um retorno ao caráter, à sensibilidade e aos hábitos morais do agente humano como chaves para redefinir nossa relação com a biosfera.
