Vilém Flusser: between reality and technical images

Abstract

Vilém Flusser has long proposed a reflection that stands out in the contemporary world, in which the truth of facts is questioned in the face of the manipulations that arise in the revolutions of communication and technology, anticipating the challenges of today's society in the face of conflicts over what is real and what is imaginary, especially when these ideas merge. This article permeates the theses constructed in the book 'The Universe of Technical Images, a Praise of Superficiality', pointing out the effects of science's activities in restructuring the solidity of the tangible world and the attempt to give meaning to a universe that is distant from its own meaning, weakened by the deprivation of the interpretative power of the concept in receiving the activities of machines.
