For data collection, an in-depth individual interview and the convergence group method were carried out during September to November 2016. The data obtained was subjected to content analysis. Results: Data analysis resulted in two categories: discovery of pregnancy and; pregnancy as a state of change. It was evident that representations of pregnancy are anchored in the realization of the dream and in the religious belief that involves motherhood, as well as in the family constitution and increased sense of responsibility. Final considerations: It is understood from the study that pregnancy, even causing physical, psychological and social changes, is something expected by women and that generates multiple feelings and causes changes.
2024-01-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rev Enferm UFPI https://periodicos.ufpi.br/index.php/reufpi/article/view/4238 Predictive validity of the EVARUCI scale for intensive care patients 2023-08-12T15:57:13+00:00 Larissa Milena Carvalho Gomes larissa.mcgomes@gmail.com Vitória de Barros Siqueira vitoria.barros@univasf.edu.br
Objective: To evaluate the predictive validity of the EVARUCI scale for intensive care patients. Methods: This is a retrospective longitudinal study with secondary data carried out in a reference ICU in neurology and trauma-orthopedics. Health professionals have low undergraduate training, scarce continuous training and multidisciplinary work. Conclusion: It is necessary to incorporate subjects on diversity, gender identity and dysphoria into the training of health professionals, as well as continuous training with tools that allow a comprehensive approach, increasing confidence and security in the provider-patient relationship, in order to improve the well-being of children.
2024-01-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rev Enferm UFPI https://periodicos.ufpi.br/index.php/reufpi/article/view/4314 School as a space for nursing: a review of health literacy 2023-07-04T02:34:12+00:00 Paulo Henrique Leal de Sousa paulo.leal@ifma.edu.br Nadyelle Elias Santos Alencar nadyelle.alencar@ifma.edu.br Marcia Teles de Oliveira Gouveia marcia06@gmail.com
Objective: To understand the role of school nursing in the context of child and adolescent health literacy. Methods: An integrative review using the Web of Science, MEDLINE/Pubmed, Scopus, Cinahl, Virtual Health Library databases, and search terms related to child and adolescent health, health literacy, and school nursing. No time or language limits were considered. Results: 419 articles were identified and, after excluding duplicates and applying the eligibility criteria, seven articles made up the final sample, none of them developed in Brazil. Despite being a field of research that is still little studied, the results revealed the positive impact of nursing in the school context in promoting physical and mental health literacy, preventing preventable illnesses, and managing chronic non-communicable diseases. This evidence leads to reflections on the recognition of school nursing in Brazil. Conclusion: Nurses are references in the implementation of health literacy programs and in the construction of health literate organizations. In the Brazilian context, there is an urgent need to expand the training of nurses trained to work in schools.
2024-04-05T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rev Enferm UFPI https://periodicos.ufpi.br/index.php/reufpi/article/view/4175 Effective communication in nursing shift handover: scoping review 2023-10-14T17:46:46+00:00 Pedro Camilo Calado da Silva pedrocamilocalado@gmail.com Thallyta Juliana Pereira da Silva thallyta9191@gmail.com Cynthia Roberta Dias Torres Silva cynthia.torres@pesqueira.ifpe.edu.br Josicleide Montenegro da Silva Guedes Alcoforado josicleide.alcoforado@abreuelima.ifpe.edu.br Ana Carla Silva Alexandre Ana.alexandre@pesqueira.ifpe.edu.br Guilherme Guarino de Moura Sá guilherme_mourasa@hotmail.com Khelyane Mesquita de Carvalho khelyanemc@gmail.com
Objective: To map available scientific evidence regarding effective communication during the shift handover in nursing. Methods: Scoping review based on the research question "What scientific evidence is available about effective communication in the safe shift handover in nursing?" The selection of studies took place in November 2023, with searches in the MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science and LILACS databases, Google Scholar screening and manual search in the references of the documents that were part of the sample, with time lapse from 2004, without language restriction. The evaluation was conducted using the data reduction method. Results: The study identified several barriers in communication during the shift handover of the nursing team, including diversification in documentation and lack of privacy. Errors such as omission of information and lack of time were highlighted. Effective strategies involve early preparation, face-to-face communication, an enabling environment, and the inclusion of the patients in the process. Conclusion: The available scientific evidence on effective communication during safe shift handover in nursing was mapped. The study revealed challenges in nursing communication during the shift handover, emphasizing the need for standardization, early preparation and patients’ involvement for better continuity in care.
2024-04-05T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rev Enferm UFPI https://periodicos.ufpi.br/index.php/reufpi/article/view/4280 A glance at the use of IRaMuTeQ® software in scientific research: a bibliometric study 2023-08-07T21:07:17+00:00 Dayara de Nazaré Rosa de Carvalho profdayrc@gmail.com Viviane Ferraz Ferreira de Aguiar vferraz@ufpa.br Daiane Baldo Apolinário daianebaldo@live.com Dandara de Fátima Ribeiro Bendelaque bendelaqued@gmail.com Luana Cunha Galvão Pereira cnluap@gmail.com Simone Aguiar da Silva Figueira simoneaguiar@uepa.br Fabiana de Souza Orlandi forlandi@ufscar.br
Objective: To analyze and map the national and international scientific production on IRAMuTeQ® use software in scientific research in health in the historical series from 2012 to August 2022. Methods: This is a descriptive bibliometric and scientometric research and exploratory. For this purpose, postgraduate programs are permanently aiming to provide proper teaching qualification achieved through a joint collective effort made by coordinators, teachers and students, as well as partnerships with other national and international higher education institutions.

However, although the paths are generally prosperous, postgraduate programs also bring challenges and difficulties that may turn into obstacles in this experience. Recent research on mental health has highlighted the presence of symptoms related to depression, anxiety, or stress among postgraduate students. Although mental illness among master's and doctoral students is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon, some guiding questions can be highlighted to understand this scenario.

The numerous requirements demanded by the course and the intense dedication necessary to construct a research project combined with a multidimensional set of social, individual, economic and/or interpersonal factors have the potential to significantly impact the psycho-emotional balance of postgraduate students and can also be predictive factors for mental distress.

Furthermore, the continuous pressure to maintain a significant production of high-quality original research papers in journals of great scientific impact

[...]
2024-01-25T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Rev Enferm UFPI
